Water Spider Hunting Mosquito

If you provide a range of environments, animal and plant life will be sure to make use of it. And here it is the case as a water spider comes to hunt mosquito larvae.

A small mound of Azolla becomes an unlikely home base, to balance on so delicate a surface is an outstanding feat of agility and instinct. And it eats those bloody mosquitoes!

This same water was used to seed my truck tire ponds with beneficial microorganisms, although I can’t say what become of that spider, there are plenty more mosquitoes for him to take care of that’s for sure…
