Ever wait a long, long time for something to bear fruit? This prickly pear was collected from the outer Western suburbs of Melbourne way back in 2013. This happened to be the first fruit that made it to the eating (the one before that was eaten by a possum!).
And after waiting for so long, how did it taste?
Exquisite!!
I’d suggest that you have a spot in your garden to grow your own. Keep it’s growth contained and enjoy the prickly fruits of your labours!
