Garden and Nature in Words

Laugh, Set, Dispatch

Tall green spectators

you served, I slipped

an elbow dug into red clay

what a racket

laughter (mostly) in morning light

some blood, but that’s love

we declared at the tie-break

and proceeded to second base (oops wrong sport)

before – eventually – retiring to the clubhouse trophy room

how jealous of the crowd

to have covered it up

an old tennis court
