This is from the Gala, with the Pink Lady in heavy flower I’m sure she is about to follow.

  4. My granny smith tree was planted last year. We pulled all the apples off to give it a chance to establish the roots. This year it started to make SO many apples… I was excited. But the second son went out and pulled them all off… he feels that we should let the trees have two years to REALLY get established.
I’m torn. I applaud his far sightedness but I was really looking forward to eating our own apples this year. (I have a Ballerina apple on the other side of the yard that we planted on the same day… I think it has a couple of apples on it… sssshhh!)

    2. Now if you can only teach your son to thin the fruit instead of taking it all off you will be in good shape. 🙂

    1. Hi Jason. I think it was a 2 year old that I bought from Yalca, and at the time was no more than a 2 foot stick.
