The forest floor is filling with valuable plants – a Globe Artichoke just starting off, with stinging nettle in seed, and nasturtiums making their way.

A food garden is not always so pretty; the lawn is not cut clean, lumps of compost surround plants, cut broad bean stalks are laid straight back over the soil to create a green manure.
