Your garden is probably a source of peace, serenity and calmness. Or, it’s the place where all the awesome things are at. But you still wish there was something more you could do to make it look like more than just a place that is green and has flowers and insects buzzing around. Everyone with an opinion will tell you that a landscaper might be just the person who could do the needful for your garden. But what if you could do the same in a few simple steps? Here are ten steps that could raise your garden from just ordinary to extra ordinary.
1. Grass Sculptures
Get your garden scissors and get to prune those bushes. And if you’re really not that artistically inclined, go out and buy a few grass sculptures. Get a few birds and animals and place them amongst the rest of the bushes. You can use intricately carved wood or laser cut screens to complete the set up. Grass sculptures present a lot of possibilities. But take care not to overwhelm your garden with too many of them.
Classic ways to add beauty to your garden, fountains are available in various types and dimensions. So you can select a fountain that could either be the centre-piece of your garden or could occupy a corner in the garden that is highlighted with soft lighting to give that perfect feel of serenity.
Instead of the drab conventional benches in your garden, opt for nice soft and comfortable chairs that you and your guests can carry around the garden and sit on. Throw in some cozy cushions. You can also put up some loungers so you can enjoy the view and be super-comfy too. .
4. Marquee with tables
Marquees add a good dose of drama and opulence to a garden. And they’re always there give you a sound enough excuse to host a party or just do some activity! A nice marquee with ornately carved tables and chairs could make all the difference needed to your garden and make it THE place to go for all your guests. Deck it upwith quirky art installations, fairy lights and the like in the tent to set the mood for a wonderful evening.
5. Mix and Match
Place your flowerbeds away from each other and in random spots in the garden to give your garden a wild, untamed look that also manages to look like a beautiful mesh of colors. It’s like having controlled chaos right your yard, and how!
Pick a beautiful birdfeed and watch the magic as different birds descend into your garden on a daily basis. However, be ready for a little poop out there too. But never mind that; let’s concentrate on the overall effect. Besides, they’re easy to clean. Nothing a little water can’t do.
7. Artificial Pond
Demarcate a small area in your garden for a small pond and fill it with a few tiny fish or turtles. Place concrete slabs around the pond for when you’re in a pensive mood and just want to think or when you just want to revel in the little sights and sounds of nature.
8. Painting the Flower beds
Spunk up the flowerbeds with a little waterproof paint! Stencil abstract designs or even something like words or random letters and see the effect the colors bring out in your garden.
Hang a few decorations around your garden. Try Oriental or Moroccan lanterns. You could hang them on branches or on your garden walls. Or you could put up little disco balls. You can even use seasonal decorations to deck up your garden, like use Christmas décor around winter or Easter décor around spring.
10. Music and Lighting
Install a stereo system in a protected space. You can use it to play soft music while walking in the garden. Also, in order to build up the ambience of the garden, use soft lighting throughout the garden. But to make it economical keep switches around each area, so only those lights go on.
Implement these tips to create a garden that will not only up the value of your property, but also give a garden you will look forward to entering every day of your life.
