I had heard about aquaponics from some gardening friends and the idea stayed with me long enough to do something about.
This long cold Melbourne Winter has been an opportune time to assemble a wonderful collection of posts about my experiences with an aquaponics method for food production. These will be published in an almost sequential order over the next couple of years…

Now back to the theme of this post!
I can happily confirm that seeds (parsley in this case), thrown onto a working aquaponics system will germinate.
So bizarre for someone that only knew to plant stuff in dirt – but expanded clay balls will do.
And getting used to it very quickly! More to come folks 🙂

Oh yeah, we are working on a stand alone, off grid system that does not use electricity at all. One of them also provides as a waste, isothermal compressed air that can be used for refrigeration and freezing, airconditioning or many other uses.

Yes please do. I have a need to add more grow beds and would love to be able to make them here and not from the other side of the world.
