  1. wow what a great article you have here and can I add that the work of the FSC is just fantastic. It is so important for consumers and trade groups to understand how semi-finished and finished goods are prepared and delivered including those rights of the producers. Thanks for covering this.

  2. Not quite as directly consumer-centric as the cited certifications, but you might note the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. Aimed at both commercial and residential buildings, LEED rates projects on “practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance.” An LEED certified building has met stringent requirements for sustainable materials use; energy efficient HVAC, lighting, and water systems; rational siting (e.g., access to transportation, parking, etc.); and the like.
