Coffee Grounds Help With Composting
Another opportunity to record some of the things I’ve been doing with composting coffee grounds over the Australian Summer.
By mixing coffee grounds, lawn clippings, kitchen scraps, rainwater, leaves, cardboard and shredded paper, I am achieving compost temperatures in the range of 65 Celsius (150 Fahrenheit).
At those temperatures I can churn through 50 kilos of organic material a week, and return it all back to the Earth in 2-3 months.
Compost temperatures rose by 5 degrees Celsius solely on the addition of spent coffee grounds to the compost, and I recommend you make some room for them, and you will be well rewarded.
